At Mostar Model United Nations (MostarMUN), we strive to provide an environment that promotes professionalism and mutual respect in order to further our mission that focuses on offering all participants period to challenge, innovate, and empower each other. By registering and attending the 2019 iteration of MostarMUN Assembly, all participants are expected to adhere to the following expectations from March 25. - 29. 2019 while in attendance of activities associated with, or could be perceived as associated with, the Assembly.
Harassment and discrimination, including but not limited to gender, race, religion, age, disability, nationality, and sexual orientation, are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated at MostarMUN. Delegates and delegations are expected to treat all participating members and staff of the conference with due respect.
Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
Sexual, derogatory, and inappropriate advances which may include:
Suggestive or unwanted comments or jokes;
Physical contact without prior and continuous consent;
Bullying, aggressive, or violent behaviour;
Unsolicited advances and requests of a sexual nature.
Discrimination includes, but is not limited to:
Being dismissed, demoted, isolated, or denied an opportunity, right, benefit, or advantage on the basis of gender, race, religion, age, disability, nationality, and sexual orientation, thus excluding the individual of their equal right to exercise their own freedoms.
If any participant is believed to have engaged in instances of harassment or discrimination, the Secretary-General and/or any designated official reserves the right to evaluate the behaviour and nature of the situation and take the appropriate remediative action which may include, but is not limited to:
Suspending and barring the delegate or delegation from participation at MostarMUN;
Suspending and barring the delegate or delegation from select activities at MostarMUN;
No action taken;
Any other actions deemed appropriate.
This clause applies to all participants who have engaged in such action against any participant or staff member as defined above, including all MostarMUN staff members, hotel staff, or any other individual affiliated with MostarMUN.
All participants are expected to behave in a respectful manner at MostarMUN.
Participants found to be over-intoxicated and/or engaging in disruptive or violent action and/or displaying negligent behaviour as deemed by the facility staff, the Secretary-General, or any designated official, may be barred from participation at MostarMUN without refund.
Participants found to be in possession or engaging in activity including the possession of restricted items, prohibited items, illicit or any other item obtained or perceived for the purpose of violence or ill-intent may be barred from participation at MostarMUN without refund and may be held criminally liable.
Delegates found to be disruptive, towards other hotel guests, staff members, or committee sessions, may be barred from participation at MostarMUN without refund at the discretion of the facility staff the Secretary-General, or any designated official.
All participants are expected to be dressed in Western Business Attire (WBA) while attending committee sessions. Attire from a delegate’s own identifying country of origin or nationality as well as respectfully wearing attire of a country that the delegate is representing, is also permitted.
All participants are expected to adhere to all policies as outlined by the Mepas Hotel, or any other facility or venue under contract by MostarMUN.
All faculty advisors and head delegates are expected to discuss this Code of Conduct with their respective delegations, outlining the responsibility of each delegate to remain responsible and respective throughout the conference. Faculty advisors and head delegates will be held responsible for the conduct and behaviour of their participating delegation at MostarMUN 2019 to the extent that it contravenes sections of the Code of Conduct.
